Inverness is a decorative font family designed by Paul Hickson (P&P Hickson) and Steve Jackaman (ITF) exclusively for the Red Rooster Collection in 1996.

In the 1930s, it was popular to take day-trips by train to the seaside in the British Isles.  Agencies designed regional posters advertising these excursions; it is from one of these posters that Inverness was created.

Inverness excels in headline and signage roles much like its original source.  Its style is reminiscent of Art Deco posters, and evokes feelings of travel, music, and vacation.
